Dr. Barnes-Palty is confident that people have a great capacity for growth and change.  She creates a space where people can feel safe and cared for while exploring their life experiences.  Therapy is designed to address the concerns of the whole person, considering the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural qualities that make each person and family unique.   Through the exploration of thoughts and feelings, the discovery of personal strengths, and learning new life skills, people can heal and create lives with more joy, happiness, and purpose.

 

As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Barnes-Palty sees people who have a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems.  She is most passionate about working with pregnant women, new mothers, infants, couples, and families as they adjust to pregnancy and childbirth. Specialized psychological treatment is offered for:

  • Pregnancy planning and preconception

  • Pregnancy anxiety

  • Pregnancy related health concerns

  • Pregnancy loss

  • Postpartum depression, anxiety, and other perinatal mood disorders

  • Birth trauma

  • Adjustment to new parenthood

  • Early Parenting

  • Relationship changes after parenthood

  • Bonding and attachment difficulties between parents, caregivers, infants, and young children.
