Krystal Mazzola is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) who holds a Masters degree from the Couples and Family Program at the University of Oregon. Prior to completing this program, she received her undergraduate degree in Human Sexuality and Gender Studies from the University of Arizona. Krystal deeply values inclusivity and has actively supported the LGBTQ community since her time at the University of Arizona. Krystal specializes in both individual and couples’ therapy and utilizes therapy models proven by research to create meaningful change. These models include Dialectical Behavior Therapy; the Gottman Couples Method and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which been proven to reduce and even eradicate the distress related to traumatic memories. In addition to this, Krystal is an expert on codependency and has supported codependency recovery for both individuals and couples. She has worked at The Meadows; a residential center renowned for codependency, trauma and addiction treatment and trained with their model creator, Pia Mellody. Finally, Krystal is the author of The Codependency Recovery Plan: A 5-Step Guide to Understand, Accept and Break Free from the Codependent Cycle.
